Milton Keynes City Council is currently seeking a committed and experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people, working within a supportive and forward‑thinking local authority.
Key Responsibilities
* Chair multi‑disciplinary meetings and collaborate with professionals across agencies to complete assessments and develop child‑centred care plans.
* Complete annual Children and Family Assessments to ensure care plans remain relevant and effective.
* Ensure children's day‑to‑day care needs are met and help them understand their care journey through direct work, life story work, and multi‑agency collaboration.
* Manage a caseload of up to 20 children, including those subject to Care Orders, Placement Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking Children, and those Placed with Parents.
* Maintain high standards of record‑keeping and documentation in line with statutory requirements.
* Contribute to team development by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and participating in reflective practice.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
* Experience working with children in care, including statutory assessments and care planning.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
