Job Opportunity: Civil Engineer-Rail & Transit
Matchtech is recruiting for a permanent opportunity for a Civil Engineer with UK Railway experience to relocate to Toronto. This role does require permanent relocation.
Position Overview:
Our office in Toronto is seeking a Civil Engineer-Rail to join our team. This position involves working on Civil designs for Rail projects (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) in the Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist Design Manager in tasks related to the development of construction documents for the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel Project
2. Monitor Design Schedule, track deliverable dates, and prepare look-ahead schedule for distribution
3. Identify design issues, prepare RFIs, and manage Design Subconsultant agreements
4. Track Project costs related to Design hours progress tracking and estimating
5. Coordinate design solutions with other disciplines and contract requirements
6. Develop drawings, sketches, and support documents when required
7. Review contract requirements, ensure compliance, and participate in Change Management process
8. Ensure adherence to Project and Company procedures for Design Quality Management
9. Attend internal and external meetings, keeping detailed records
10. Research design standards, requirements, and literature to support decision making
Requirements:
* 5-8 years' experience as a Civil engineer, including alignment (mandatory)
* Experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager is an asset
* Detailed design coordination experience
* PMP training is an asset
* High skills in Inroads or Power Rail Track are mandatory
* Ability to develop plans, specifications, technical notes & calculations with minimal supervision
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
* Fluency in English, both written and verbal is critical
