Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Director, this an exciting role for a passionate finance professional. The role sits alongside the FP&A Manager and the Treasury, Tax and Payroll Manager. The fast growth of the Business over the past few years has led to a need for increased compliance, governance and process, in the UK, Europe and the US. With three direct reports (at least initially), the role requires a sleeves rolled up approach, from someone exited to carve out their own role and make their mark. This is very much a build and grow situation, being part of the crucial professionalisation stage for AU Vodka. There are new relationships in place with reputable third party advisors and a new audit firm, all of whom are keen to support and guide. This role could be perfect for someone looking for their first FC role. Equally, experience in a previous FC role could be very valuable in building an a-star function.

Responsibilities

* Audit
* Leading on the annual audit, carried out by Grant Thornton
* Creation of annual consolidated accounts
* Feeding into annual corporation tax process
* Ensuring appropriate accrual of corporation tax, audit and associated support fees within monthly management accounts and management of charges
* Inventory Control
* Responsible for Inventory control from a Financial perspective, including working with the Operations Team, predominantly the Inventory Manager, on stock counting and integrity, costing, obsolescence and shrinkage reporting
* Working with Ops and Finance teams to continuously improve cost and quantity data integrity
* Working to improve physical versus system integrity at all times
* Management of aged stock provision
* Balance Sheet
* Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, working to the timeline of the Management Accounts team (within FP&A)
* Reconciliation of excise duty account on monthly basis and payment of amounts owed
* Working with Ops to understand and rectify any duty discrepancies
* Accounts Payable
* Management of team of two
* Responsible for the Accounts Payable function, including vendor payments and associated approvals and reporting
* Bringing best in class structure to the function
* Exploring AI opportunities to better streamline the process
* Working with Treasury Manager on weekly payment runs
* Oversight of employee expenses system
* Accounts Receivable
* Management of one person
* Ensuring debtors are settled in a timely manner, ensuring chasing where necessary
* Reporting to bank for Invoice Factoring requirements
* Reporting updates and information as required to credit insurers
* Managing annual credit insurance renewal and any claims
* Policies and Process
* Responsible for creation of key policies and procedures, principally Procure to Pay, Order to Cash and Inventory
* Reporting
* Creation of quarterly Board working capital reporting for CFO
* Narrating of monthly working capital KPI’s and reports for monthly Management Accounts pack
* Requirement to feed into FP&A team to aid management accounts accuracy and timeliness

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills And Experience

* Qualified accountant
* 3+ years experience in relevant role(s)
* Excellent excel skills
* Experience in working with inventory
* Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Experience in balance sheet reconciliations
* Understanding of audit and ability to work with auditors to ensure they meet their timelines, discussing and solving any issues as they arise
* Understanding of UK Corporation Tax
* A fast learner
* A calm and measured approach to work
* Excellent communication skills
* Naturally curious
* Excellent business partnering skills, able to speak calmly and clearly, bridging the knowledge gap between business and third parties
* Ability to trouble shoot and solve issues
* Self-motivated, always striving to improve
* A sleeves rolled up approach
* An organised and pragmatic approach to work, able to prioritise effectively

Desirable Skills And Experience

* Experience with Xero software
* Experience with Cin7 WMS software
* Experience in working in a fast growing Business
* Experience in accounting for UK and International excise duties in Alcohol industry
* International finance experience
* Experience in audit and accounting standards
