We are now looking for experienced Project Managers to join our dynamic Projects Department. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of engineering projects within the water and wastewater sector, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery from initial concept through to handover.
About The Role
As a Project Manager at WGM Engineering, you will lead and coordinate the design and delivery of multiple projects, working closely with internal teams, clients, and contractors. You will ensure your projects stay on programme, within budget, and aligned with our high standards for safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, and wants to make a tangible impact on Scotland's critical water infrastructure. You'll work alongside our in‑house construction and design teams, enabling real-time technical collaboration and problem-solving.
WGM is a trusted delivery partner in the Water Industry and currently serves as the sole MEICA Framework Contractor for Scottish Water in the Central West, as well as holding multiple frameworks across England.
Main Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, ensuring effective resource allocation.
Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting all HSEQ standards.
Build strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Attend and lead key meetings with design teams, clients, and subcontractors.
Manage Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality processes across office and site operations.
Oversee daily site operations to maintain safe, accurate, and efficient delivery.
Work collaboratively across business functions to ensure seamless project delivery.
Identify project risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
Provide buildability advice to Pre‑Construction teams.
Coordinate with Clients, Subcontractors, Design, Pre‑Construction and Commercial teams.
Contribute to programme planning, interface management, and third‑party coordination.
Support commissioning, handover, and acceptance processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
2–3 years' experience in Project Management within a similar engineering or construction environment.
A qualification in an engineering discipline (preferred).
Experience in the water or wastewater industry (advantageous).
A valid UK driving licence due to travel requirements.
You'll be proactive, organised, and confident leading teams and managing technical projects from end to end.
