Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and motivated individual to join our team as a Shop Assistant & Delivery Driver. This role combines helping customers in our shop with delivering products to farms and homes in a safe and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be an animal lover, comfortable with both customer service and hands-on work around a working farm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Shop Assistant Responsibilities:
* Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
* Stock shelves with products weighing up to 25KG, keep the shop clean, and maintain organised displays
* Handle sales transactions, including cash, card, and electronic payments
* Advise customers on products for pets and farm animals
* Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
* Safely operate company vehicles to deliver goods to customers and farmyards
* Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely service
* Load and unload heavy products and checking stock
* Ensure deliveries are handled safely and securely
* Follow all company procedures, health, and safety guidelines
Skills & Qualifications:
* Full UK driving licence
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Basic computer skills for operating tills and inventory systems
* Comfortable working in a farm environment and not afraid to get dirty
* Physically fit and able to comfortably handle products up to 25kg
* Passion for animals, particularly dogs and horses
Desirable (Nice to Have):
* Previous experience in retail or delivery roles
* Forklift licence
* Minimum of Grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
Working Hours:
* Tuesday to Friday: 8:30am 5:30pm
* Saturday: 8:30am 1:00pm
