JOB TITLE: SAFETY TECHNICIAN
The post is based offshore on the BleoHolm on a 3/3 rotation
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To maintain all fire fighting and life saving equipment and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with all statutory requirements.
2. Carry out planned preventative, remedial and breakdown maintenance in accordance with Sinopec’s maintenance management system
3. Carry out maintenance activities on fire fighting and life saving equipment and appliances
4. Complete preventative and remedial maintenance in accordance with Maximo schedule and work instructions, with particular emphasis on safety critical activities
5. Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all platform equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly
6. Carry out and participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability o Ensure comprehensive work history is recorded in Maximo and any follow up work and material required is identified
7. Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change
8. Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present idea(s) to relevant management
9. Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices. • Participate in PFM competence scheme including any multi skilled role in accordance with the relevant competence framework
10. Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
11. Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
12. Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
13. Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with ’s HS&E policy, procedures and Safety Management System
14. Be familiar with, and follow, the Golden Rules for Health and Safety at all times
15. Comply with all relevant PFM HS&E policies and procedures where appropriate
16. Actively participate and support all and PFM Health, Safety & Environmental plans,initiatives and improvements
17. Carry out all activities in accordance with ISSOW including the following:
18. Comprehensive and detailed Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks
19. Stop and re-asses any job where change is identified
20. Report all accidents and incidents
21. Carry out Emergency Response duties as required by site
22. CSE and BA trained as required by site
23. Carry out competency assessments as required by company
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
24. Breathing Apparatus Care & Maintenance
25. Breathing Apparatus Compressor Training
26. Breathing Apparatus Air Purity Training
27. Portable Gas Detection Use & Calibration
28. Servicing & Maintenance of Portable Fire Extinguishers
29. Core Trade NSVQ (Level 3) Certification or Equivalent
30. Authorised Gas Tester - Combined Levels 1, 2 & 3 (CBT)
31. Previous experience in a similar offshore role
32. Previous experience with Maximo or similar CMMS
33. Computer literate including use of Microsoft office suite
