Conveyancing Assistant Vacancy
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Conveyancing Assistant to join one of our clients busy property team. You will provide essential support to our Residential Conveyancers, handling the administrative and legal legwork required to move files from initial instruction through to completion.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the "language" of property law, and prides themselves on providing a seamless client experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* File Management: Opening and closing files, conducting initial ID and Money Laundering (AML) checks.
* Search Management: Ordering and reviewing local authority, environmental, and drainage searches.
* Client Liaison: Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, estate agents, and mortgage brokers to provide status updates.
* Post-Exchange/Completion: Preparing completion statements, handling Land Registry applications (AP1s), and dealing with SDLT submissions.
* Document Preparation: Drafting contracts, transfers, and mortgage deeds under supervision.
* Administrative Support: Managing calendars, organizing digital files, and ensuring all compliance deadlines are met.
Requirements:
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience within a residential conveyancing department.
* Proficiency in Case Management Systems (CMS) and the Land Registry portal.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills; you should be able to explain complex processes in simple terms.
* The ability to manage a high volume of files without letting details slip through the cracks.
* Attitude: A "can-do" approach and the resilience to handle the pre-completion "Friday rush."
