Key Responsibilities
* Case Management: Manage a complex caseload, including child protection, children in need, and looked-after children. Complete assessments, develop plans, and oversee interventions and reviews.
* Statutory Duties: Deliver statutory functions under relevant legislation, preparing high-quality reports for conferences, courts, and reviews. Ensure care and child protection plans are implemented effectively.
* Permanence Planning: Identify long-term options such as adoption or fostering and ensure timely and effective delivery of permanence plans.
* Quality and Compliance: Maintain accurate case records in line with Council policy. Contribute to audits, inspections, and service reviews.
* Leadership and Supervision: Mentor newly qualified social workers, support reflective supervision, and lead or chair key meetings where required.
* Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work in partnership with education, health, police, and other agencies to ensure effective inter-agency communication and holistic support for children and families.
* Voice of the Child: Ensure childrens wishes and feelings are central to care planning and decision-making, advocating for their best interests.
* Professional Development: Keep up to date with legislation, guidance, and best practice. Contribute to the development of policy and practice within the Council.
* Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities appropriate to the role as required.
