Job Summary
Are you passionate about supporting children to make healthy, empowered choices surrounding food, nutrition and wellbeing?
We are looking for a candidate to assist children during snack and meal times, whilst supporting kitchen staff to prep food and maintain Food Standards Agency hygiene standards. The suitable candidate will be able to supervise children during mealtimes. The candidate will be proactive, have an interest in working in Early Years and work well as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Support children during their snack and lunch times, promoting positive eating habits and healthy choices.
* Assist in the kitchen to prep meals, maintain a clean kitchen and ensure the area is compliant with Food Standards Agency.
* Have a secure knowledge of children's allergies and intolerances and maintain inclusive practice whilst still meeting their needs
* Support the kitchen staff to develop menus, collect feedback and place orders.
Experience
* Experience with cooking and preparing meals
* Previous experience with children desired but not compulsory
* Knowledge of Safer Food Better Business not compulsory but would be great
Skills
* Happy, kind and caring and willing to get mucky
* Dedication to providing care for children under 5
* Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as part of a team
* Ability to use initiative to complete job roles
* Willingness to complete relevant training as part of job role
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 25 per week
