Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Night Trunk Driver to join our new team at Wilby International. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires experience in commercial driving, particularly with double deck trailers, and an exemplary track record in delivery driver roles. The successful applicant will ensure timely and safe transportation of products while maintaining the highest standards of customer service.
Responsibilities
* Operate articulated trucks to transport goods to designated locations safely and efficiently.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
* Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during transportation.
* Maintain accurate delivery records and logs, including mileage and fuel consumption.
* Communicate effectively with planners, hubs, colleagues and any other relevant party regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
* Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, being the face of Wilby International and ensuring that you and your vehicle are kept clean and tidy.
Requirements
* Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with medical and CPC up to date.
* Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with double deck trailers, fully versed in coupling and uncoupling trailers.
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving.
* Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo, adhering to rules and regulations around load security.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with site managers and other drivers.
* A commitment to maintaining a clean driving record and adhering to company policies regarding vehicle maintenance.
