We are recruiting for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people. This role spans educational settings and healthcare sectors across North Tees. You will be based with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), located with Alliance Psychology in Stockton, providing mental health support across schools in Hartlepool and Stockton local authority areas. The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check with barring.
Job responsibilities
* You will be based with the well-established trailblazer Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) within Alliance Psychology. The team is located in Stockton and provides mental health support across a range of educational settings in the Hartlepool & Stockton local authority areas.
* Deliver mental health interventions on a one-to-one and group basis as well as delivering whole-school approaches to help schools embed strategies to promote and support mental health and wellbeing.
Qualifications
* Essential: Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner
* Experience: Work within Mental Health Support Team for schools either as trainee or qualified EMHP
* Experience: Working with children and young people, their families and others; liaising with a wide range of agencies and stakeholders
* Desirable: Experience of working with children and their families in healthcare or educational settings; delivery of group interventions for children and young people
Personal Qualities and Skills
* Self-motivated; team player; excellent time management and organisational skills
* Able to travel to meet post requirements
* Able to manage a sensitive, traumatic, and potentially emotionally distressing caseload
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; DBS disclosure up to date
Specialist Experience
* Experience with children and young people who have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
* Experience with anxiety disorders and affective (mood) disorders
* Experience delivering therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, solution-focused brief therapy)

* Salary: £28,500 to £31,139 per year, dependent on experience
* Location: Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees (North East)
