Haileybury is seeking a talented and passionate teacher to join our vibrant and dynamic Art Department to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a part-time role (60% of a teaching timetable) with a fixed-term contract commencing January 2026 and closing date 19 September 2025 at 12 noon. About the department and school
Haileybury is an independent co-educational boarding and day school of around 900 pupils aged 11 to 18. The Art Department offers public examinations at GCSE, A level and International Baccalaureate (IB). Art lessons are compulsory for all Lower School pupils to develop cognitive skills. In Removes, pupils wishing to continue studying art can opt to follow the Visual Arts pathway. We provide an well-resourced Art School on campus with dedicated teachers, our Art Fellow and our Art Technician.
Responsibilities
* Teach Art up to Sixth Form, with ability to cover GCSE, A Level and/or IB as appropriate.
* Deliver a creative, responsive teaching approach that inspires, stretches and supports pupils of all abilities.
* Support the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School.
* Engage with the School's professional development opportunities and contribute to a forward-thinking teaching environment.
* Collaborate with colleagues to use a variety of teaching methods to motivate and inspire pupils.
Qualifications and requirements
* Degree in Art or a closely related subject.
* Ability to teach up to Sixth Form. Prior experience with GCSE, A Level and/or IB is an advantage but not essential.
* Commitment to creative, responsive teaching and to supporting pupils of all abilities.
* Suitable for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or an experienced educator seeking a new challenge.
