Job description TITLE: Chef De Partie / Pastry Chef BASED: Stowmarket, Suffolk My client is a luxury retreat and boutique hotel, comprising of individual barns for guest accommodation, restaurant, spa and events. As Chef De Partie/Pastry Chef, you would be part of a passionate and ambitious team, producing high quality food and service in a luxury venue for resident, external and event guests. This role would suit someone who has a passion for using fresh, quality ingredients, providing a luxury service and who is sustainability conscious. JOB OVERVIEW: As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the production of various pastries, desserts, and baked goods, with a key focus on afternoon tea. You will collaborate with the kitchen team to design menus, develop recipes, and ensure the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation are maintained. KEY REQUIREMENTS: The candidate will liaise with the Head Chef on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen: Produce fantastic food to a high level, with your key role being to produce our high quality and detailed afternoon teas. Work with the head chef to create innovative and seasonal menus. Ensure accurate records are kept at all times relating to the food production and wastage for all service periods. Ensure that all foods are labelled, stored and handled in accordance to Health and Safety requirements. Menus must be followed to ensure all financial targets are achieved. Fully manage your section; this includes orders, food preparation, service and handovers. Maintain the standards set by the Head Chef and ensure these standards are adhered to on a daily basis. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment. Strong knowledge of pastry techniques. A high level of detail and presentation in the food you produce. Great time-management skills. A positive and welcoming attitude. Commitment to delivering a high level of customer and client satisfaction. Ability to work effectively and positively as part of a team.
