The role of the Speech & Language Therapist will be to provide high quality rehabilitation care to our residents. The role will involve working at both sites; Lillington House and Helen Ley House. This will involve a range of neurological assessment and intervention skills, across different phases of treatment (restorative and compensatory rehabilitation, long term maintenance and palliation).
The role will be a minimum of 22.5hours per week, with consideration of full-time options.
Main duties of the job
To prioritise, assess and manage own patient caseload, demonstrating specialised skills, experience and ability to work without supervision.
To promote effective and evidence based treatments, identifying and utilising evidence based outcome measures appropriate for the residents at Castel Froma Neuro Care.

Job responsibilities
* Prioritising workload through demonstration of high level of understanding of clinical needs and risks to individuals to ensure residents psychological, social and physical needs are met.
* Ability to work clinically without direct supervision while being able to appropriately raise key safety and clinical risks or concerns
* Effectively communicate complex information to residents and family members regarding SALT interventions
* Manage and enable risk within your scope of practice in an unpredictable environment with complex neurological conditions
* To ensure all records are maintained and stored confidentially and in line with GDPR and HCPC requirements
* To work holistically as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team.

Person Specification
Experience
* At least 2 years' clinical experience working as a Speech & Language Therapist
* Experience working with neurological conditions
Knowledge and Skills
* Hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have access to own transport.
* Able to build effective working relationships with team members, outside colleagues, residents and relatives.
* To have a positive attitude and enthusiasm towards residents and the wider work of the organisation.
* Well organised with effective time management skills
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
* Health and Care Professions Council Registration
