Offer description

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and passionate Practice Supervisor for the East Lindsey South Health Visiting team.

Our Children's 0-19 Health Service includes the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme by Health Visitors, Children and Young People’s Nurses and Family Health Workers. The revised Healthy Child Programme is public health nurse‑led and we are seeking interest from those who have a vision of how the changes can be applied in practice to ensure impact and secure improved outcomes.

Here at Lincolnshire County Council we believe that children, young people and families deserve outstanding care. We aspire to become a fully integrated Children’s Services Team, at the forefront of innovation. Our journey continues and we need dynamic and forward‑thinking people to help us further embed successes and actively continue to improve and innovate.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will need to hold current registration with the NMC and be a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. The candidate will either have a supervision qualification or experience in providing supervision.

Promoting and developing integrated approaches to care is integral to the role. The ideal candidate will work alongside and support integration with our wider Children’s Services colleagues in Social Care, Early Help and Early Years to ensure the population in Lincolnshire receives timely and appropriate intervention from the most appropriate source.

You will need to provide evidence of experience and expert knowledge of the priorities within public health agendas, with specific insight into the needs and key priorities for families residing within Lincolnshire.

You need to be confident and competent in both children’s and adults’ safeguarding legislation, practice and procedures in order to actively engage in multi‑agency meetings, discussions and escalation of safeguarding concerns. You will provide safeguarding supervision to your staff; therefore previous experience in this field would be beneficial.

We are looking for a practitioner who has an understanding of clinical governance and must be able to articulate how they apply processes and practices, which evidence how their staff and the organisation meet the requirements to be safe, caring, responsive, effective and well‑led. You must be able to identify any deficit in these domains and provide support to make improvements. This will require an ability to think analytically and fact‑find to enable reporting and timely escalation.

As a Practice Supervisor you will demonstrate the ability to manage and implement change sensitively, using an appropriate leadership style. We are seeking someone who utilises a restorative approach which promotes a shared vision of service priorities within the organisation.

For a confidential and informal discussion about the role, please contact Dawn Firth 07741 606055 or dawn.firth@lincolnshire.gov.uk, or Jakki Metcalfe 07741 605990.

Hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.

Fluency Duty. In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.

Please be advised that this position may be subject to a criminal record check.

Lincolnshire County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
