An opportunity has arisen to join a thriving architectural practice based just north of Nottingham. Renowned for its collaborative culture and supportive, close‑knit team, the practice delivers high‑quality residential, leisure, and healthcare projects. With continued growth and several exciting developments entering the technical and construction phases, they are now seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist with strong knowledge of RIBA Stages 4-6 to strengthen their delivery team.
Your New Role
As an Architectural Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in the detailed design, technical development, and on‑site delivery of projects. You will be responsible for taking schemes from technical design through construction and handover, ensuring quality, compliance, and technical excellence throughout. Your responsibilities will include:Technical Design & Coordination (RIBA Stage 4)
Developing fully coordinated technical drawing packages
Producing detailed construction information using CAD software
Resolving complex technical challenges and proposing buildable solutions
Coordinating with consultants, engineers, and specialist suppliersTendering & Procurement (RIBA Stage 4-5)
Preparing tender documentation, specifications, and schedules
Assisting with contractor queries during the tender process
Providing technical input during procurement and negotiation phasesConstruction & Site Delivery (RIBA Stage 5-6)
Conducting regular site inspections and producing clear site reports
Monitoring construction quality, compliance, and progress
Responding to contractor RFIs and providing timely technical guidance
Managing amendments, overseeing snagging, and supporting project completion
Liaising with building control, planning authorities, and regulatory bodiesProject Management & Collaboration
Leading technical coordination meetings
Maintaining accurate and organised project documentation
Working closely with internal design teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Contributing to continual improvement of technical standards and processes
What You Will Need to Succeed
Strong experience working as an Architectural Technologist, ideally with a RIBA Stage 4-6 delivery focus
A degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline
A collaborative, proactive, and detail‑driven approach
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft 365, SketchUp, and InDesign
Working knowledge of Revit (desirable)
A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
