Plater / Fabricator
Location: Llansamlet
Pay Rate: £17.00 - £19.50 per hour (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week (with regular overtime available - up to 50+ hours during busy project periods)
Working Hours: 07:30am - 4:30pm (flexible working hours available)
The Opportunity
JDR Recruitment are recruiting Platers / Fabricators on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Llansamlet.
Our client is a long-standing UK manufacturer with a strong reputation for engineering quality and project delivery. Due to continued growth and a busy forward order book, they are expanding their fabrication team and are looking to secure skilled individuals on a permanent basis.
This role offers long-term stability, consistent work, and the opportunity to be part of a growing operation with flexibility around working hours.

Key Responsibilities
* Oxy acetylene / propane cutting, washing and gouging
* Arc gouging
* Light and heavy vessel fabrication
* Structural steel fabrication
* Plasma cutting stainless steel
* Dish end forming
* Track torch bevelling of large plate (up to 100mm) using profile drawings
* Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
* Adhering to all health & safety requirements, including fume control
* Correct use and maintenance of PPE at all times
* Supporting and mentoring apprentices where required

About You
* Valid welding certification
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Fabrication / Welding
* CCNSG Safety Passport
* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Experience with on-site fitting of pipe supports and structural steelwork
* Competent welding using FCAW (136) and MAG (135) processes on plate, including ceramic backing
* Experience using plasma or oxy-fuel profile beds is advantageous
