Our School
Pirniehall Primary is a non-denominational school situated in the North West of Edinburgh and is part of the Craigroyston Learning Community. The school currently has a roll of pupils, with 9 classes covering the stages P1-P7 and there are a further 24 nursery children attending full-time.
The building has spacious classrooms with flexible space for active learning, a dining hall, gymnasium, library, staff base, and SfL base. The school also makes use of available spaces to support health and wellbeing groups and nurture spaces.
The leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, two Depute Heads, two Principal Teachers, and a part time Business Manager. There is a large team of excellent Pupil Support Assistants who provide support for learning, play and inclusion. Our pupils also have Health and Wellbeing Support in school with access to an Art Therapist, Play Therapist, and School Counsellor.
The school shares the campus with St. David's Primary School. The school utilise shared spaces such as the dining hall and playground areas and provide a number of opportunities for children to learn together.
The school is situated in an area of multiple socio-economic deprivation with most of the pupils residing in SIMD 1 and 2. The school has a strong collegiate ethos which promotes partnership working with parents, carers, partners and the wider community. Pirniehall Primary promotes a positive and nurturing learning culture, where the needs of the child are placed at the heart of our schools work.
Our refreshed school values have been agreed as Achievement, Teamwork, Kindness and Respect and we will work cooperatively as a school community to achieve our shared vision and live our agreed school community values.
