Join a Specialist Led Team in Anaesthesia!
You will join a vibrant Anaesthesia and Pain Management team, led by Specialists in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. As an Anaesthesia Nurse, you will rotate through all departments (Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Medicine and Oncology with support from Diagnostic Imaging) and be involved in a wide and varied caseload.
You will be responsible for anaesthetic planning, vascular access, monitoring and management of complications during anaesthesia in conjunction with the supervising anaesthetist. You will also support ward nurses in the management of critical and post-operative patients in the intensive care unit.
You will be encouraged to build on your existing knowledge and skills with regular taught sessions, patient-side training, instruction in advanced anaesthetic equipment including mechanical ventilation and be involved in clinical research. Applicants must have a passion for anaesthesia, work well within a team and be willing to contribute to the training and supervision of junior staff.
Who We Are
Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral centre, providing a variety of interesting cases and opportunity to improve your skills. The practice has in the region of 80 nurses across the hospital. We are located in the South of England, close to the New Forest National Park and South Coast, offering easy access to a multitude of outdoor activities. The area also offers good access to regional and international airports, with excellent road and rail links to London.

Working Hours that Provide Flexibility
This is a full-time permanent role, averaging 38 hours per week with 1:5 weekends on call and various rotation options.
