Solicitor/Cilex or Equivalent (Medical Products Liability - Grade C - Liverpool)

Salary: DOE

Location: Liverpool/ Hybrid

Role – Solicitor Grade C Medical Products Team

Location: Liverpool/Hybrid

Fletchers Group have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing Team.

The role will involve assisting lawyers and senior lawyers as directed in the running of a caseload of Medical Product Liability cases from inception to trial, always under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements. You will be working on all aspects of litigation within your team, both pre- and post-litigation work. The team’s focus is on group action claims relating to defective medical devices and drugs. You will oversee the running of the individual client files and will also assist the team on the generic work which is common across the group.

Main Responsibilities:

Accountable for:

14. Overseeing the progression of the individual client files
15. Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
16. Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
17. Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
18. Effective and thorough time recording
19. Managing and maintaining the Master Spreadsheet

Responsible for:

20. Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and members of the team
21. Working with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the cases
22. Management of a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
23. Co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
24. Drafting ofdocumentation including Claim Forms, Application Notices, draft Orders, Letters of Notification, Letters of Claim, Letters of Instruction to experts and Instructions to counsel
25. Assisting with the issuing and service of proceedings should it be required
26. Assisting the team with pre and post issue tasks as directed
27. Overseeing the documentation and correspondence produced by the team
28. Maintaining the teams Sharepoint and overseeing the organisation of documents
29. Advising the team on any technical issues arising from their cases with support from Team Leader/Head of Department.

Essential Skills and Experience:

30. Recent experience of handling a case load
31. NQ- 5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
32. Excellent organisational and time management skills •
33. Excellent communication and drafting skills
34. Excellent IT skills especially in respect of Microsoft Office packages, proclaim and excel
35. Excellent attention to detail
36. Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
37. Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
38. Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
39. Excellent Client Care Skills
