The opportunity
The Global Solutions Engineering Group is responsible for the development of design‑to‑order customer‑specific products, including new product development, technical support for operations, processing of engineering changes, and investigation & resolution of product quality issues. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for all Global Solutions Engineering releasing, compliance, and process excellence worldwide. Managing a team in Northern Ireland and in the US, you will lead the team to ensure all products are of the highest standard and quality.
What You Will Do
* Manage 6‑10 engineering team members responsible for engineering process excellence, quality, releasing, and compliance for Global Solutions Engineering designs worldwide
* Engage in engineering design reviews and collaborate with downstream (Operations & Supply Chain) and upstream departments (PM, TSS and Sales)
* Coordinate with all diesel and gas solutions engineering teams globally to standardise and optimise our engineering processes and ensure all our products meet local and industry codes and standards worldwide
* Champion compliance for all products under GSE design control through collaboration with GSE leaders to ensure design processes incorporate compliance requirements
* Maintain our Global Solutions Engineering Scorecard
* Ensure product quality for the rest of the world diesel solutions engineering group
What You Have
* Knowledge of industry standards associated with large reciprocating engine‑driven electric power products (ie. UL2200, IEC60034, IEC60204, EN12601, EU Directives 2006/42/EC, 2000/14/EC, and 2011/65/EU)
* Experience with Enterprise Requirements Planning (ERP) tools (preferably SAP), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (preferably Siemens Teamcenter) and Engineering data systems (preferably Caterpillar EDS)
* Provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges through strong technical competence, effectively examining implications of events and issues

* Ability to lead successful teams and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace
* Works collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds; understands their needs and perspectives
* Mentors others to enhance their technical competence and its application to achieve more effective technical solutions

* An accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science degree or closely related technical qualification
