Job Overview
Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist – Fixed term 23 months, Full time, based at Oak Tree Family Centre, Stranraer.
Responsibilities
* Deliver comprehensive speech and language therapy services across the region, supporting AAC, Total Communication and School Age pathways.
* Collaborate with families, partner services and agencies to achieve best outcomes for children and young people.
* Participate in prevention and early intervention activities, tailoring support to individual needs.
* Work in multiple locations across the community and be able to drive.
Professional Development & Supervision
* Ongoing support, preceptorship and training, with an individualised job plan.
* Annual Development Review and preceptorship as part of operational, professional and clinical supervision.
Qualifications & Career Pathway
* New graduate career development pathway post – complete NQP competencies within first year and all NMAHP Level 5 competences by end of 23 months.
* Opportunity to apply for a Band 6 post as an internal candidate upon completion of the pathway.
* Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with relevant registration (e.g. NMC, HCPC, GMC, GDC, etc.).
Location & Travel
This role is based at the Oak Tree Family Centre, Stranraer and requires travel across the community. Candidates must be able to drive and have a valid UK driver’s licence.
