Overview
We are looking for an HR director who would be responsible for all people-related issues and processes to do with volunteers, members, work experience, paid staff and Duke of Edinburgh students.
What difference will you make? FIlling Goog has gone through a long and steady strong growth period in the shop at 22 high street, leading to the creation of a board about 2 years ago, to sustain the growth and bring the project to the next level, as well as allow one of the founder to leave. The team has been through a lot of change recently and is in need of focus, and learning to work together and look in the same direction, allowing a healthy level of recognition and challenge. An HR director is the position we need to allow this vital balance in our actions.
What are we looking for?
* You have experience in HR and people-related processes.
* You have a good understanding of retail and shop floor working and the best approach to working with volunteers.
* You have about 4 hours per week to dedicate to the position, including some regular board meetings.
What will you be doing?
The board is made of 8 directors, and we are looking for a replacement of our current HR director, who is leaving us after a change in his career. This role will work along other board directors an interim chair, 2 marketing and comms, food safety, volunteers coordination, treasurer, secretary). In the board meetings we welcome our shop manager, the only full time paid position. The size of the shop is quite small, so the director roles are an interesting mix of hands on tasks, and strategic thinking.
