Financial Controller – PE‑Backed Financial Services (Contract)
Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days per week on‑site, candidates within ~1 hour commute preferred)
Rate: £450‑£550 per day
Duration: 12‑month maternity cover contract
Start Date: 11th May
We’re supporting a PE‑backed financial services business in Bristol that is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a long‑term maternity cover contract. This is a key hire within the finance team, with responsibility for strengthening financial governance while supporting ongoing transformation activity across systems and processes.
The role will suit someone who is comfortable operating in a hands‑on, fast‑moving environment and can quickly embed themselves within a senior stakeholder group.
What you’ll be doing
* Ownership of month‑end close and financial reporting cycle
* Strengthening financial controls and ensuring robust compliance standards
* Supporting and leading elements of finance transformation work
* Driving improvements across processes, reporting, and systems
* Partnering closely with the CFO and wider leadership team
What we’re looking for
* Proven background as a Financial Controller in a commercial environment
* Experience within financial services
* Strong hands‑on experience with NetSuite
* Track record of involvement in finance transformation or change programmesAble to deliver quickly and operate with autonomy from day one
* Ideally based within commuting distance of Bristol (around 1 hour)
