Through their contribution, the Treasurer will help EcoCounts

By supporting the charity's financial health and governance framework, the Trustee Treasurer will directly contribute to EcoCounts' capacity to grow, develop partnerships, and deliver meaningful, practical climate action.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced finance professional who is confident operating at Board level and motivated by the opportunity to contribute their expertise to meaningful climate action.
The ideal trustee will bring sound financial judgement, strategic perspective, and the ability to support a growing organisation through an important stage of development.
Most Important Experience
Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
Strong experience in financial management, budgeting, and statutory or regulatory reporting
Experience interpreting financial information to support strategic decision-making
Confidence contributing to governance discussions at Board level
Highly Valued Experience
Experience within the charity, voluntary, or not-for-profit sector
Familiarity with charity finance, compliance, and governance requirements
Experience supporting grant-funded activity or mixed-income models
Experience working with small or growing organisations

Our Board is currently small, engaged, and actively involved in shaping the charity's operational and governance foundations. As an early-stage organisation, EcoCounts is focused on strengthening financial resilience, improving planning processes, and supporting sustainable growth aligned with our programme ambitions.
Over the next 12 months, key priorities include developing clearer financial structures, supporting funding and budgeting frameworks, and ensuring that financial governance evolves in step with organisational growth.
The Trustee Treasurer will play a central role in
Providing financial insight and guidance to the Board
Supporting the development, monitoring, and review of budgets
Advising on financial planning and sustainability
Supporting the Board in understanding financial performance and risk
Advising on financial controls and governance considerations
Contributing to longer-term strategic and financial planning
The Treasurer will work closely with fellow trustees and may support finance-related discussions or working groups as required.
