Working Pattern: Full time, permanent, 37 hours per week, rota-based including sleep-ins

About the Role
As a Level 2 Children’s Residential Carer (Residential Care Officer Level 2) at Eastgate, you will be responsible for the supervision and care of children in a residential setting, leading shifts, developing projects, and supporting the personal development and independence of young people.
Responsibilities
* Supervision and shift leading
* Developing projects and direct work with children
* Mentoring new staff and leading practice areas
* Chairing professional meetings
* Managing household tasks and preparing young people for independent living
* Maintaining resilient relationships with stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience
* Passionate about child‑centred care and committed to helping children and young people grow socially and emotionally
* Desire and/or ability to undertake a Level 3 QCF qualification in working with children in residential childcare; or possess a relevant Level 3 QCF qualification
* Ability to operate as a key worker, supervise staff, lead shifts and work under pressure
* Strong reporting and record‑keeping skills with IT proficiency
* Driving licence desirable (negotiable)
Important Note
Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK, we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.
Offer
Salary: £32,597 - £35,412, plus a sleeping‑in payment of £41.78 and mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile. Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half. The role also offers a local government pension scheme, competitive benefits package, and generous annual leave entitlement.
