Quality Control Technician responsible for sampling, field testing, and specimen preparation tasks for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry Products.
Purpose of the role
A vacancy has arisen in the Technical Operations team for a Quality Control Technician based at our site in Hingston Down, Cornwall.
The Quality Control Technician conducts sampling, field testing, and specimen preparation for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products, following British standards and company protocols. Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. A full, clean UK Driving Licence is required, as driving is a key part of the role. The candidate should be motivated, a good communicator, adaptable to change, and willing to work overtime.
Key Accountabilities
* Maximize the contribution of the technical department to cost-effective product manufacturing.
* Establish and maintain product quality levels aligned with customer needs and operational goals.
* Provide high-quality technical support to Commercial, Operations, and external customers.
* Perform sampling, testing, and specimen preparation for Concrete, Asphalt, and Quarry products according to relevant standards and procedures.
* Investigate quality issues at sites and depots, providing feedback to technical and operations teams.
* Review water demands in RMC, site practices, truck delivery issues, and product consistency variances.
* Raise NCRs and Near Hits as needed.
* Promote safety and quality standards.
* Assist with transportation of test specimens.
