Job Title: Bookkeeper
Reed Accountancy & Finance, a well-established and reputable practice in Lisburn, is actively recruiting for a Bookkeeper. This is a permanent, office-based position offering flexible working hours, either part-time or full-time (4 or 5 days per week).
Responsibilities:
1. Record and process financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, invoices, and bank reconciliations.
2. Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in ledgers and journals, adhering to accounting standards.
3. Prepare and file VAT returns, payroll taxes, and other statutory returns.
4. Assist with preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and other financial reports.
5. Support with Making Tax Digital preparations.
6. Communicate with clients, respond to queries, and maintain organized accounting files.
7. Perform bookkeeping and administrative tasks as needed.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting technician, preferably in an accountancy practice.
2. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
4. Attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work independently and within a team.
7. AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
