Hearing Aid Dispenser - Cheshire at OutsideClinic

Location: Cheshire and surrounding areas

Job Summary

As a domiciliary Hearing Aid Dispenser, you can help our patients with their hearing in the comfort of their homes. You will provide audiological testing services and support the hearing care journey in a home-based setting. You will have autonomous responsibility and full support from central teams including logistical and clinical assistance.


Clinical Responsibilities

* Manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss.
* Pure Tone Audiometry including masking as required.
* Tests for non-organic hearing loss and for Noise Induced Hearing Loss.
* Take aural impressions and select appropriate ear moulds.
* Selection, programming, and fitting of appropriate hearing instruments.
* Provide a full, structured, patient-centric aftercare programme to ensure maximum satisfaction.
* Provide appropriate support for individuals with hearing loss.
* Use outcome measures (subjective and objective) to ensure maximum benefit and apply evidence-based practice.
* Use Real Ear Measurement to validate and verify fittings.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge through lifelong learning; keep test equipment maintained and calibrated as required.
* Provide ear care and wax removal where required (training provided).
* Follow infection control best practices in the workplace.


Professional Responsibilities

* Meet the appropriate level of expertise to register with HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser (training provided as needed).
* Reflect on practice with peers and management to identify strengths and development needs.
* Be responsible for professional actions and boundaries, seeking advice when needed.
* Collaborate with the clinical team and discuss client needs with colleagues.
* Attend supervision and training to maintain skills and expand scope of practice while complying with HCPC CPD requirements.
* Maintain HCPC CPD records.
* Understand clinical governance principles and their application in Audiology.
* Ensure staff awareness and compliance with Infection Control, Health and Safety, and Risk Management policies.


Your Skills & Experience

* Effective and flexible communicator with multiple parties.
* Experience with digital systems and strong attention to detail.
* Confident driver with at least two years of driving experience and ability to navigate multiple locations.
* Calm under pressure, pragmatic problem solver, organized, and able to multitask.
* Work within own clinical knowledge and limitations.
