GSL Education are looking for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Barnham. This rewarding role involves providing tailored, one-to-one support to a pupil with additional learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one support to a pupil with special educational needs, ensuring they remain engaged and supported throughout the school day.
* Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the child’s individual learning style and abilities.
* Assist with emotional regulation and social interaction in a calm and positive manner.
* Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and review progress.
* Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem through consistent encouragement and support.
Requirements for the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs is desirable.
* A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with young learners.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a changing classroom environment.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
