The SEN TA will run interventions, provide in-class support, aid social and emotional development and liaise with the SENCo and families to ensure personalised provision. This SEN TA vacancy starts January 2026, with induction and handover arranged before January 2026 to ensure the new SEN TA can begin the spring term effectively. Position details Role: SEN TA — Barking Start date: January 2026 Contract: Permanent / Part-Time or Full-Time (school dependent) Main duties Deliver one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions and track pupil progress. Support classroom teachers by adapting resources and scaffolding learning for pupils with SEND. Assist with social skills groups, sensory strategies and pastoral support across Barking. Communicate progress to the SENCo, parents and external professionals and contribute to reviews. Support transitions between year groups and prepare concise handover notes for receiving staff. Person specification Proven experience supporting pupils with special educational needs and confidence delivering interventions as a SEN TA. Calm, adaptable and strong communicator, able to build rapport with pupils and families in Barking. Available to start January 2026 and to attend pre-start induction and training before January 2026.
