Teaching Assistant (SEN Support – Year 2 & Year 4) – September Start A friendly and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Haywards Heath, rated Good by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team from September. This is a full-time, term-time only position, working across Year 2 and Year 4 on a split SEN support schedule. The role involves providing 1:1 support for two pupils—one with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and one with Down syndrome—helping them access learning and thrive within the classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support across Year 2 and Year 4 Support pupils with ASC and Down syndrome in their academic and social development Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to implement support strategies Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment Requirements: Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC and/or Down syndrome (desirable) A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A child-only enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a supportive and welcoming school community.
