Detailed job description and main responsibilities The successful candidate will provide senior support for the non-malignant clinical and laboratory services and attend clinics in red cells and general haematology. There is flexibility in the job plan to undertake further clinical work in a related area of non-malignant haematology, depending on the interest of the candidate. Inpatient attending is on an alternate month basis, shared with and supported by the consultant team. The role can incorporate under graduate and post graduate teaching, educational supervision, research, leadership roles within the specialty, depending on the interest of the individual. Person specification Professional registration/qualifications Essential criteria Full and specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview) Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview Clinical skills and experience Essential criteria An interest and experience in non-malignant haematology including red cells Teaching, Audit & Research Essential criteria Evidence of participation in Clinical Audit.
