Role
* Manage a designated category and deliver long‑term profitability, meeting budgeted income and terms agreements.
* Negotiate with the supply base to secure the lowest cost prices and most cost‑effective routes to market.
* Collaborate with category and NPD teams to deliver range and New Product Development opportunities that support the company strategy.
* Work with Supply Chain to ensure suppliers meet service level agreements and customer demand.
* Lead and manage the category review process, recommending cost‑saving initiatives and presenting pricing and market analysis with recommendations.
* Apply experience from a relevant buying role within food retail, wholesale, hospitality or foodservice, ideally having led negotiations with branded manufacturers.
* Demonstrate a passion for trading and commercial and negotiation skills.
* Exhibit excellent influencing, presenting, internal and external relationship skills.
* Show hands‑on buying experience and proven negotiation tactics with suppliers.
* Be a team player with strong communication skills.
* Possess good insight and data analysis skills and the ability to act on profit‑driving opportunities.
* Maintain excellent planning and organisational skills, working independently as a self‑starter with a can‑do attitude.
