Our client is a market leader in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, renowned for delivering high-quality, reliable global supply chain solutions. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Sea Freight Specialist to join their established operations team in Nottingham.

Sea Freight Specialist - The Role
As a Sea Freight Specialist, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end sea freight operations, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently, compliantly, and to the highest service standards. You will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partners.

Sea Freight Specialist - Key Responsibilities
Manage import and export sea freight shipments (FCL and LCL).
Arrange bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents.
Prepare and check shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.
Track shipments and proactively manage delays or exceptions.
Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing regular updates.
Liaise with ports, depots, hauliers, and customs brokers.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company procedures.
Maintain accurate shipment records and system data.

Sea Freight Specialist About You
Proven experience in sea freight forwarding (imports and/or exports).
Strong understanding of Incoterms and shipping documentation.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.
Customer-focused with strong communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience using freight management systems (e.g. CargoWise or similar) is advantageous.
