Junior Project Manager - field based

Location: Field based across the Milton Keynes area
What You’ll Do
You will support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control. Your main responsibilities will be managing projects for tree works around power lines and pylons in the Milton Keynes area, driving programme delivery and ensuring team performance against contract KPI targets.
This field‑based role will involve approximately 3/4 days on site and 1/2 days working from home. A valid driving licence is required as you will drive regularly to rural locations.
You will ensure work is completed to the highest standards in safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability, and will drive consistency and innovation to help Ground Control remain the best in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Achieve outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
* Maintain efficient communication with the office‑based Project Coordinator and ensure projects are processed in good time for smooth delivery.
* Report timely and effectively to the Contract Delivery Manager.
* Ensure tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are fully utilised across the wider contract.
* Update and manage the relevant programmes of work, planning checklists and associated tasks for your project and teams.
* Resolve any delayed spans that require client involvement to gain consent promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
* Basic field‑based experience, possibly within the arb or horticulture industry, field‑based surveying or installation engineering, or ex‑armed forces backgrounds.
* Practical or project‑management experience in tree or horticulture work is beneficial but not essential.
* Strong negotiation, influencing, and team‑management skills.
* Proficient IT skills.
* Well‑developed organisational and prioritisation abilities.
* Excellent customer‑service orientation.
* Driving licence and willingness to work remotely from rural locations.
