Merton Council, in Southwest London, is seeking a permanent Senior Public Health Principal to lead on embedding a strategic approach to healthy places, improving health through environmental and socio-economic factors and tackling inequalities. We are looking for someone who has the ability and flexibility to work across all aspects of public health.

In this role you will lead on a Health In All Policies approach and you will build networks and work with teams in all council directorates such as planners, transport, housing, climate, environment, economy and civic pride, adult social care and children's services, the NHS integrated care system and other local organisations, to influence their work through your expertise so that the health of the population is maximised.
You will be qualified at postgraduate level or equivalent in public health or a related subject and have equivalent experience within public health or a related field. You will bring with you a knowledge of the causes of ill health and inequalities, combined with a knowledge of public health principles and practice.
