The opportunity to play a key role within Glasgow City Council’s Property and Consulting Services department.
This position involves on-site electrical clerk of works duties for various projects around Glasgow, reporting to the Assistant Group Manager.
Responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring, recording, and reporting the progress of electrical services contractors working on-site as part of the council investment programme.
2. Reviewing contract documents such as drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, and related materials to understand project requirements.
3. Ensuring work quality aligns with drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
4. Issuing remedial work notices promptly when materials or workmanship do not meet standards, and informing the Electrical Engineer/Contract Administrator.
5. Reviewing weekly and short-term programmes of electrical contractors and advising relevant engineers of findings.
6. Witnessing and recording tests and commissioning activities as required by specifications and authorities.
7. Supporting the design team and conducting surveys and small-scale design of existing building services.
