Associate Dean (Research & Knowledge Exchange), College of Leadership and Innovation
Buckinghamshire New University is seeking an Associate Dean (Research & Knowledge Exchange) to lead our research strategy and sustain a vibrant research community within the College of Leadership and Innovation. The role is full time, permanent, based in High Wycombe with hybrid working options.
Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 per annum
Location: High Wycombe (hybrid working available)
The College brings together disciplines including aviation, business and leadership, finance, law, security, tourism and hospitality. The post holder will lead on the College approach to RDAP, REF, and KEF, and will undertake their own research outputs and income. The role supports the Dean in aligning with the University’s strategic objectives and ensuring an excellent experience for students and staff. An inclusive approach and building an inclusive university community are central to the role.

Key Responsibilities
* Line management responsibilities including recruitment and selection, performance management, professional development, motivation, health & safety and wellbeing.
* Improve research and knowledge exchange outcomes
* Build the College’s consultancy portfolio
* Grow doctoral student numbers
* Lead the REF and KEF at College level
* Achieve RDAP
* Lead collaborative research and knowledge exchange projects
* Lead and develop a highly motivated team and instil a culture of high performance and belonging
* Oversee health and safety, budget and risk management, and compliance with University regulations, policies and procedures
* Comply with relevant legislative and other requirements (e.g., Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, Health and Safety, UKVI, Equality and Diversity)
* Such other duties as reasonably required
Person Specification – Essential Criteria
* Education, Qualifications & Training: Doctorate and/or member of the professoriate
* Relevant teaching qualification/Advance HE recognition
* Professional registration as appropriate
* Knowledge & Experience: Leadership experience in a school, department or faculty; effective people management and collaborative working; proven impact on improving research and KE outcomes; deep understanding of the REF and KEF; experience of research and KE innovation; delivering an excellent customer experience
* Skills: Personal resilience for difficult conversations; commitment to equity and social justice; digital proficiency in Microsoft tools
* Special Requirements: Able to travel to other locations as required
