We are on the lookout for a motivated individual to join our vibrant team in Eastfield, North Yorkshire, as a Plating Operative! What We Offer
* Hourly Rate: £12.75 – £13.37
* Contract Type: Temporary
* Working Pattern: Night Shift (Friday / Saturday 6pm‑6am; Sunday 6pm‑2am, Wednesday 6am‑1.30pm)
* Location: Eastfield, North Yorkshire (Just an 18‑minute walk from Seamer train station!)
Your Role
As a Plating Operative, you will be at the heart of our production processes, contributing to the high standards of our manufacturing operations. Your main responsibilities will include:
* Understanding the tin plating process, including start‑up and shut‑down procedures.
* Hooking/jigging and hanging components for plating.
* Managing pre‑plating degreasing and rinsing tank procedures, along with plating acid tank and drying procedures.
* Overseeing paperwork related to components and ensuring proper organisation upon process completion.
* Conducting trade effluent procedures, including hourly pH checks.
* Monitoring daily addition chemicals, tin anode conditions, and hazardous waste disposal.
* Familiarising yourself with emergency procedures related to chemical spills, eye wash stations, and drench showers.
* Performing additional duties as assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office or equivalent software.
* A keen eye for detail and ability to work efficiently under deadlines.
* Practical science or engineering skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work well within a team.
* A flexible, dependable approach to your work.
* A motivated mindset, eagerness to learn, and a good attendance record.
