Job description
Prospero’s Children’s Education Services are seeking an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEN Specialist Tutor to support a young person with complex needs and challenging behaviour in the Barking and Dagenham area.
This young learner requires bespoke educational support due to their unique challenges and time out of formal education. Your role will involve delivering up to 10 hours of 1:1 tuition per week, providing both academic instruction and emotional reassurance to help them re-engage with their learning in a structured, consistent way.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a resilient and empathetic tutor who has a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, and communication difficulties, and will be confident in implementing tailored strategies that foster trust, routine, and academic progression.
Tuition sessions will take place in a suitable location such as the learner’s home (with a responsible adult present), a local library, or a safe, designated learning space. You’ll also have access to guidance and resources from our Learning Delivery Team, including assessment tools, structured plans, and regular monitoring support.
