Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal
Location: Hungerford, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
Market Vets is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join a welcoming team in North Devon, primarily based in Barnstaple with occasional support at the South Molton branch. This two‑site role includes routine procedures, elective surgeries, and emergency cases, and offers opportunities to develop clinical interests. The practice is well equipped with digital X‑ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, dental radiography, therapeutic K‑laser, and an in‑house lab. The team is collaborative, with experienced vets and RVNs, and strong support for further development, certifications, and career progression.

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied caseload. You’ll develop your clinical skills, share knowledge, and contribute positively to the team culture.
Job details
* Full‑time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8 am‑6 pm. Weekends and out‑of‑hours are part of the rota, with on‑call covered from home and time off in lieu.
* The rota runs on a six‑week cycle for structure and predictability.
