Deputy General Manager‑Arenas NEC at Levy
Position Overview
This role is a full‑time, permanent appointment in Birmingham (NEC, Arenas). The Deputy General Manager oversees the daily operations of the venue, ensuring seamless delivery of large‑scale events and concerts. Key responsibilities include operational excellence, customer satisfaction, stakeholder management, and commercial performance.
Responsibilities
* Assist the General Manager in driving strategic and operational excellence across all venue functions.
* Lead day‑to‑day delivery of service, food quality and client satisfaction, keeping the Levi signature culture high.
* Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to support catering services and event execution.
* Manage financial performance – budgets, forecasts, P&L, cost controls and hospitality margin improvement.
* Oversee health and safety compliance, ensuring programme and culture align with Levi and Compass Group standards.
* Champion a guest‑focused culture, encouraging teamwork, communication and continuous improvement.
* Support people management, recruitment, training, performance reviews and succession planning.
* Deliver key projects and innovation initiatives, coordinating with Levy stakeholders and contractors.
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years senior management experience in food & beverage, ideally in a multi‑venue or event environment.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at all level.
* Strong commercial awareness with proven P&L accountability, cost‑control and revenue‑growth ability.
* Demonstrated ability to manage mixed portfolios of outlets and deliver high‑quality service.
* Experience implementing projects, change programmes and driving continuous improvement.
* High emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
