We are supporting a public sector organisation in recruiting experienced Vehicle Technicians to join their established police fleet workshop in Strobridge.
This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled Technician seeking long-term stability, structured working hours, and meaningful work that directly supports community safety without the commercial pressures found in dealership environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, repairs, and routine maintenance on a diverse fleet including cars, vans, and specialist police vehicles.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Complete all repair and maintenance work to strict safety, quality, and compliance standards.
* Conduct detailed vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and operational readiness.
* Record all job details, parts used, and actions taken within the workshop management system.
* Work collaboratively with workshop colleagues to maximise fleet availability and minimise downtime.
* Install and maintain specialist police equipment (full training provided).
Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.
* Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic.
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ability to work to high safety, accuracy, and quality standards.
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience working on fleet or emergency service vehicles.
* EV / hybrid qualifications.
* Auto-electrical installation experience.
