Overview
As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team. You will support the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services. Within the healthcare department, you will build great relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs, from greeting customers and dispensing prescriptions to providing advice to help patients make informed health decisions.
Responsibilities
* Dispense prescriptions, ensuring the safe supply of medicines (ordering medicines, labeling, dispensing, endorsing and collection of prescriptions).
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in-store to assist in the management and delivery of pharmacy services.
* Provide care and advice to patients about medicines and refer queries to the Pharmacist as appropriate.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
* Keep up to date with new innovations in-store and comply with operational processes.
* Support patients to manage their prescriptions to promote adherence and reduce waste, including reliable repeats and effective medicines management.
* Work with evolving technologies to develop dispensing processes, improving patient safety and freeing time to spend with patients. Regular updates and training will develop your healthcare knowledge, with career development options including potential training as a Pharmacy Technician or as part of the store leadership team.
Qualifications
* Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards and have completed the first year of an MPharm qualification.
* Current and valid UK right to work. This role is not eligible for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.
* Experience working in community pharmacy (desirable).
