Job Summary
Speech and Language Therapy Lead – Lead a specialist team in a new 48‑bed rehabilitation centre. You will manage clinical provision, team development and delivery of evidence‑based therapy for clients with complex neurological disabilities.
Responsibilities
* Assess and treat language, speech, swallowing and cognitive communication disorders.
* Provide 1:1 and group therapy and create accessible communication and swallowing guidance for the wider multidisciplinary team.
* Conduct mental capacity assessments and liaise with families as the single point of contact for client journeys.
* Lead and manage a small team of Speech and Language Therapists – recruitment, performance, appraisals and sickness absence.
* Provide clinical supervision, expert advice to staff and students and manage professional CPD and portfolio.
* Drive service development, quality improvement projects, clinical audit and work with senior management on strategy.
Qualifications
* Degree in Speech & Language Therapy.
* Additional training in Dysphagia.
* Ongoing CPD record relevant to acquired brain injury.
* Ongoing membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registration.
Experience
* Experience working with adults who are neurologically impaired.
* Experience working with carers and multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge and Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Strong clinical skills in neuro speech and language therapy.
* Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Good decision‑making and problem‑solving ability.
* Experience managing a small team of Speech and Language Therapists.
* Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication.
