Do you have retail experience with excellent customer service skills and a positive, can‑do attitude? We are looking for a Shop Supervisor to support our Shop Manager in running the Thornhill shop and contribute to our mission at Sue Ryder. The role requires commercial awareness, solid leadership of a volunteer team, and strong financial and IT administration skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Use retail experience to drive business, push sales and achieve targets.
* Lead a team to deliver outstanding customer service to donors and customers.
* Work with the local community to secure donated stock that supports sales.
* Recruit, train and retain a volunteer team, providing guidance and leadership.
* Set high standards of merchandising and housekeeping, prioritising health and safety.
* Maintain effective stock processes to keep the shop well merchandised with fresh, seasonal stock.
* Act as a brand ambassador, supporting in‑store campaigns and national fundraising initiatives.
* Manage stock processes through the Epos operation.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Customer service experience.
* Previous supervisory experience.
* Cash handling / till work.
* Basic IT skills (emails, instant messaging, video calls).
* Organisational skills.
* Experience working independently.
Desirable Criteria
* High‑street retail, leisure or hospitality background.
* Experience with KPIs and targets.
* Charity retail experience.
* Health & Safety knowledge.
* Team player attitude.
* Key holder / opening / closing responsibility.
* Merchandising / stock rotation experience.

15 hours per week over 7 days
£12.79 per hour + rewards & benefits
