Role Overview

We’re looking for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our 2025 Graduate Programme (September/October) in our Plymouth office.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our progressive, award-winning Mechanical & Electrical Engineering team delivering sustainable projects for our communities, planet and society. As a team specialising in the delivery of building services, energy and sustainability services, we get involved early, work collaboratively with the design team, guide design development, and use our expertise to help clients make key decisions—an approach that results in buildings that deliver.

Take a look at some of our projects and review the career journeys of our graduates.

Key Responsibilities

* Work on live projects from the start across a variety of sectors, from healthcare to education.
* Undertake electrical services design and calculations using the latest computer modelling software (Dialux, Relux and Electrical OM).
* Collaborate with supervisors on scheme design concepts.
* Use Revit and 3D BIM modelling software in design production and coordinate designs with other professional disciplines.
* Produce detailed designs and drawings.
* Contribute to or develop energy and sustainability strategies.
* Participate in design team and client meetings.
* Undertake site visits and surveys.
* Research and implement new technologies.
* Engage in continuous CPD and learning opportunities.
* Design and create electrical circuits, wiring and lighting.

About You

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a degree and/or master’s qualification in a relevant electrical engineering subject and a keen interest in our industry, we’d love to receive your application if you are:

* An Adapter: Able to remain calm in new and changing situations, comfortably switching between a variety of dynamic and exciting tasks.
* A Perseverer: Composed in the face of setbacks, approaching challenges with confidence and determination.
* A Collaborator: Effective working with diverse people, considering others’ perspectives to shape better outcomes.
* A Problem-Solver: Keen to share insights based on what you see, unafraid to challenge conventional thinking.

Working Arrangements

Graduates are asked to come into the office a minimum of 4 days per week to ensure colleagues can provide the appropriate level of support.

What We Offer

* A competitive salary.
* Private medical insurance.
* A range of benefits, including holiday buy and sell, group income protection and life assurance.
* Permanent employment contract, demonstrating our commitment to your long-term career at Stantec.
* Professional progression plan, supporting you to attain professional status.
* A supportive and collaborative team environment, Early Careers peer group and a wider network of Employee Resource Groups.
