Role Overview
The Clerical Officer/Receptionist will provide a welcoming and confidential reception service, efficient clerical support, and administrative assistance to clinical and managerial staff. The role requires strong communication skills, IT proficiency, and the ability to travel between sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reception duties for staff, patients, and visitors
* Handle requests, calls, and enquiries, forwarding to relevant personnel
* Book and notify patients of appointments
* Type reports and correspondence
* Maintain filing systems and ensure records are up to date
* Collect, distribute, and post mail
* Support transfer of health records in and out of the area
* Provide supplies to members of the public from the health centre
* Travel to other bases to provide administration support
* Undertake clerical duties as delegated by the Centre Manager
Required Skills and Experience
Essential
* NVQ2 in Business & Administration (or working towards)
* OCR/RSA II typing/word processing or equivalent
* Customer service experience
* Good verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent IT skills and telephone manner
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Awareness of confidentiality requirements (GDPR)
* Physical ability to perform full range of duties
Desirable
* ECDL or equivalent
* Experience in an office environment
* Knowledge of SystmOne or RiO

Compliance Requirements
* This role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
* Applicants must pay for their DBS check (£26.40 standard or £54.40 enhanced), deducted from salary over the first two months.
* Annual DBS Update Service fee: £16.
