The Senior Architect is responsible for leading specific aspects of the project and project team to assist in the overall effort of completing the various phases of the project. Job Responsibilities: Undertake the role of Project Architect across a varied portfolio of Design Projects. Duties include the development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of design and construction documents. Works on multiple projects, providing concepts and techniques in ways that may explore new ways of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements. Interacts with clients and consultants, participates on project development, and presents ideas clearly and persuasively. Prepares, manages, and modifies architectural documents, elevations, sections, and details, as directed by others in the project team, following standards and archiving documents as appropriate. Develops solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards. Assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process. Prepares 2D and 3D presentations, design drawings and renderings. Assist with bidding opportunities. Performs product research and assists with materials selection and system research. Develop the WSP Architecture brand, principally through quality of delivery and design. What we will be looking for you to demonstrate… People Management: Able to manage junior colleges and provide guidance and support where necessary, specifically in assisting the development of colleges going through their Part 3. Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design programme to the project lead. Report on the progress and risks associated with the programme. Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours. Manage time efficiently and assist / input into team meetings to review design programme. Business & Financial Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan, including financial planning, and forecasting resource. Support the Architectural Management team in growing the business and meeting financial targets. Experience in building and maintaining client relationships Input on the project programming and financial planning. Qualifications: Previous experience in the construction / architectural industry. Must be a qualified Architect. Knowledge & Skills: Technical design knowledge / skills in UK construction methodology. Working knowledge of UK building regulations and national standards. Experience of working as part of an architectural design team managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages. Working capability and proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Revit and Adobe InDesign / Photoshop. Sector experience within Defence and Security and preferably within Commercial and Workplace, and Local Government also. Have an ability to communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to both colleagues and client teams. Have a background of process and delivery for projects working within successful developed systems.
